Admissions

Your path to recovery starts with a single call

Getting Started

We understand that reaching out for help takes tremendous courage. At MDR Rehab, our admissions team is here to make the process as smooth, comfortable, and stress-free as possible. From the moment you call our facility in Napa, you will be greeted with warmth and compassion — never judgment.

Our admissions coordinators are available around the clock to answer your questions, walk you through the process, and help you or your loved one take that important first step. Whether you are considering treatment for yourself or supporting a family member, we are here to guide you with care and understanding.

Most patients are able to begin treatment within 24 to 48 hours of their initial call. We handle insurance verification, coordinate travel arrangements for those coming from outside the Napa area, and ensure that everything is ready to welcome you to our campus.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does treatment last?

Treatment length is tailored to the individual. Medical detox usually requires 3 to 7 days. Residential stays span 30 to 90 days, with the option to extend based on clinical need. Our Intensive Outpatient Program runs 6 to 12 weeks, and standard outpatient continues for as long as it remains beneficial. Your care team adjusts the timeline based on your progress at every stage.

Do you accept insurance?

We work with the majority of major insurance carriers, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare, Humana, Magellan, Tricare, Medicare, and Medi-Cal. Our admissions team handles benefits verification quickly and explains your coverage, anticipated costs, and any available payment arrangements before you make any decisions.

Is detox medically supervised?

Yes. Our detox unit operates under 24-hour physician and nursing supervision. Dr. Mateo Rivera, our Medical Director, leads a clinical team that monitors every patient continuously, uses medication-assisted protocols when appropriate, and maintains strict safety standards throughout the withdrawal period.

Can my family visit during treatment?

We strongly encourage it. Residential patients take part in structured family therapy sessions, have designated visiting hours on weekends, and receive scheduled phone time. Our clinicians also guide families through education about addiction, healthier communication strategies, and preparation for their loved one's return home — because recovery is strongest when the whole family heals together.

What happens after treatment?

Aftercare preparation begins on your first day at MDR Rehab. Before discharge, your team develops a continuing-care plan that may include transition to outpatient services, referrals to sober living homes in Napa County, ongoing therapy, mutual-support group connections, and enrollment in our alumni community. We stay in your corner long after you leave our campus.

Does MDR Rehab treat mental health conditions alongside addiction?

Yes. Our dual diagnosis program is specifically designed for individuals managing both substance use disorders and mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, or bipolar disorder. Our psychiatric team performs thorough evaluations, provides medication management, and coordinates with therapists to ensure both conditions are treated together for the most durable outcomes.
